I remember a conversation with a client during the height of the Dot.com bubble. He was lamenting his plight in attracting and retaining Web developers. This was the human equivalent of the California gold rush a couple of centuries earlier during a different period of zaniness. It seemed that this type of talent, while not fool’s gold, was hard to come by and harder to protect.
